  • Funk University Professor Andy Irvine is Coming to ROCK CAMP!

    JHME is pleased to announce bassist ANDY IRVINE as the newest Rock Camp 2013 clinician! Andy is not only a passionate and gifted performer but also fabulous teacher. He has toured nationally with over 25 artists and contributed his playing skills to over 50 successful albums. He cites funk, soul, blues, jazz and gospel as his musical influences. In 2012, Andy was inducted into The Funk University by Mr. Bootsy Collins himself. Check out Andy Irvine's website and bio here. 
  • Pam Phillips Joins Us For Jazz!

    Pam Drew Phillips has been confirmed as the featured opening act for The Geoffrey Keezer Trio on Sunday, February 10th! JHME is so pleased to have our spectacular local jazz pianist and composer start off the night with her brilliant talents, irresistible personality and impressive repertoire. "Pam's solo concert is a celebration of jazz piano that ranges in style from ragtime to contemporary jazz, and features compositions by James P. Johnson and Fats Waller, through Duke Ellington and Errol Garner, on up to Bill Evans and Herbie Hancock as well as her own originals.  More than a survey of the music, however, her performances are a thrilling blend of monstrous piano chops and a fun, effusive personality." -website.   • Weekend Jazz Residency

    JHME is so pleased to offer the workshop you've been asking for!  Mike Pope, Geoffrey Keezer and Marvin 'Smitty' Smith will be sharing theory, harmony, improvisational skills and ensemble playing tips during this 2 day workshop February 9th and 10th 2013.  Serious Jazz enthusiasts will benefit from working and PLAYING with these luminaries who will end the weekend with a spectacular show in the Center Theatre.  Check out our Workshop Page for more info on how to register!

  • Cameron Morgan Returns to Rock Camp

    Cameron Morgan will return to Rock Camp! Cameron is a solo artist and a member of Mass Ensemble, creators of the world’s longest stringed instruments, and Banyan, a punk/rock/jazz/freakout improv based quintet fronted by Jane's Addiction drummer Stephen Perkins. Cameron's various recording and performing credits include: David Lynch, Wynton Marsalis, Frank Sinatra and Johnny Cash remixes, Rob Wasserman, Tony Franklin, Deon Estus, Willie Waldman, Bennie Maupin, Bruce Gary, Kofi Baker and Tone Loc. A Texas native, he recieved a BA in Jazz Studies from the University of North Texas. Cameron moved to New York City in 1999 followed by an eight year stint in Los Angeles where he developed his career. He now resides in Portland Oregon.
  • Jeff Bratz Also Joins Rock Camp!

    Jeff joins Rock Camp staff with a degree in Professional Music from the Phil Mattson School for Music, and a significant theatrical background. His recent credits include include Man of La Mancha (Anselmo), The Rocky Horror Show (Dr.Frankentfurter), and The 39 Steps (Clown). He has appeared as a Top-15 contestant on NBC’s America’s Got Talent and as the commercial spokesman for that bohemian SUV/tent: the Pontiac Aztec. He now resides in Jackson, WY singing with the popular bands Calle Mambo and 8ighty 6ixx, and playing with the local improv troupe, The Laff Staff, and acting with Off Square Theater. Jeff will coach vocals and performance.
  • Dave LaRue joins the Rock Camp roster!

    A Berklee College of Music educated, and two-time Grammy nominated artist. Dave is best known for his work with Dixie Dregs, and has been voted in the top 10 as best bassist in Guitar Player Magazine and Bass Player. Dave has played and toured with Joe Satriani, Steve Morse Band, Mike Portnoy and Flying Colors. Check out the ROCK CAMP page for more info...
  • Jon Finn as Guest Clinician for Rock Camp!

    We are proud to have Jon joining us for Rock Camp this July! Jon is a Berklee College of Music faculty member. He plays regularly with the Boston Pops and Symphony and has performed with Josh Groban, Andrea Bocelli, Amy Grant, Vince Gill, Rockapella, Steven Tyler and Joe Perry (Aerosmith), Natalie Cole, Carly Simon, Bernadette Peters, New York Voices and many others.  He’s been involved in a plethora of concerts and recording sessions, including 6 CDs (two of which were Grammy nominated), 8 US concert tours, and one tour in Asia.
